Introducing the eBook Why Should I Prepare and is it Biblical?

I’m excited about releasing my first eBook today, called “Why Should I Prepare and is it Biblical?”. It’s a free gift to anyone who signs up for updates via email. Those of you who are already subscribers, thank you so much for subscribing previously. You should have received an email containing the link to the download page.  If you subscribe to the RSS feed and would like a copy, send an email via the contact page, letting me know you would like the link and I’ll send it to you.

This eBook explores some of the rational reasons I believe we should prepare, from the economy to natural disasters. The second half of the eBook explores some of the questions my wife and I had when we began to explore preparedness, such as “Is it a sin?” and “Does it show a lack of faith?” I also cover the verses I have found where God clearly tells us it is prudent and our duty to be prepared to care for our loved ones.

This eBook is free. Please feel free to share it with anyone you feel may be blessed by it and/or benefit from it. I simply ask that you not modify it in any way. If you send it to someone new or to someone who is on the fence about preparedness, I also link to the Getting Started to give them some first steps.

I have become a better (or possibly just lengthier) writer since I first posted “Is Preparedness A Sin?” and ”Scripture Related To Preparedness”. I have updated those articles with the text from the eBook.

To those of you who sign up for updates, thank you. I hope you enjoy the eBook as much as I enjoyed writing it.

May God bless you all,

Chris

  1. From eBook to Kindle book are some easy steps Brother. Get the word out!

I look forward to checking it out. I’m moving it to the top of my list.

Chris, Thank you for writing this book. There are so many times I question if my prepping is from a lack of faith – won’t God take care of me? Then I think of so many verses that speak to the Lord’s expectation for us to take care of our family, and realize that the doubts and awareness of my weaknesses come from two sources – the enemy, and the Creator trying to make me into what He wants me to be. I don’t recall what blog linked to your site, but I’m glad I was led here. Keep up the good work!

      Doug,
It was my pleasure, I hope you enjoy it and find reassurance and peace through it. I am glad you found the blog and hope you enjoy it as well.

    Dear Chris,
I have put off writing this thank-you, as I feel so inadequate at expressing just how thankful I am for your free eBook. It seems more and more, that everywhere you look or try to investigate, there’s someone who wants to make money off of telling you how to plan, how to protect, how to store, can, feel! While I do understand time is worth something, everyone says “their” info is the only one that will truely “save” you. Starts to feel like a scam. After following your e-mails, facebook, and much appreciated website, I new I had to buy your book. Then you give it to all for free! This confirms my feelings about you truely being a man of God. We are given gifts throughout our lives, and you are one of Gods gifts to humanity. I know you are a blessing to me and my family. I look forward to everyone of your “updates”.
Your book “Why Should I Prepare? And is it Biblical?”, was fantastic and easy to read; uplifting, hopeful, biblical, reaffirming, and very comforting. It is a wonderful resource to share with family and friends. I truely thank you from the bottom of my heart, for an inspiring book, and for the friendship I feel from far away. May God continue to bless you and your family, Nancy

    • Chris Ray says:

      Nancy,

Wow, that is quite the compliment; I am humbled, thank you very much. I’m glad you liked it hope the people you send it to are moved to prepare. With that being said, I hope I don’t disappoint you too much, I will be charging for the next eBook. The next one will be an in-depth preparedness manual that will continue to have a Christian worldview. I haven’t decided on a price yet, but it will easily be affordable.

Thank you again for the kind words,

      Chris

      • Nancy Sims says:

        Dear Chris,
Oh no…I was hoping you wouldn’t take it this way. Of course you should charge for your books, and I would gladly pay. I just meant it was SO refreshing to see you give such a gift to whoever wanted it. My father was the author of a few published books, and I understand books most certainly have worth. Maybe you are lucky enough not to get the “sponsored” ads for survival books where they “should” charge $587, but if you order today, and because they are going to save lives, you can have it for only $49! Lately I’ve been bombarded with those. If they have to take 30 minutes to explain why you NEED their book, somethings wrong.
Please know I was just trying to express my graditude, and perhaps how proud I was of you to be so giving. I look forward to your manual, and of course the ongoing value of this site. Forever in His name, Nancy

        • Chris Ray says:

I understand what you mean and agree. I see more and more sites popping up that take an hour to read what this new danger is how you can learn to protect against, only to find out at the bottom that they want $50+ for their book or course.
